The SEC-SMOKE combines two elements: the white photoelectric smoke detector head, which is a UL 268 listed smoke detector, and the InfraSensing sensor interface in the industrial grade steel enclosure, which connects it to the base unit for networked monitoring and alerting.

The detector works on the photoelectric light-scattering principle, with a detector cover and optical chamber that are field replaceable.

This gives you proven, certified smoke detection with the full InfraSensing integration and alerting stack behind it.

The SEC-SMOKE is designed to complement facility fire safety systems with additional smoke detection in critical facilities and enclosures:

- Inside racks, cabinets and enclosures the building system does not reach into.
- In equipment rooms, edge sites and remote facilities.
- As an early, independently monitored second opinion feeding your own monitoring platforms.

Because it reports through the base unit, a smoke event reaches your operations team directly — via email, SMS, voice call, SNMP or your BMS — alongside all your other environmental sensors.

This smoke sensor does not replace building fire detection systems where such systems are required. It complements such systems.

The smoke sensor works on the light-scattering principle. A pulsed infrared light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high-speed photodiode as the sensing element.

Drift compensation and smoothing algorithms are standard, automatically adjusting the detector's sensitivity as dust accumulates and the sensor ages — minimizing nuisance alarms without masking real smoke events.

In a backup detection role, false alarm immunity is what makes the sensor trustworthy: an alert from the SEC-SMOKE means smoke, not dust.

Smoke detection is only as good as its maintenance — so the detector is built to keep itself honest:

- Field-replaceable detector cover & optical chamber — renew the measurement chamber without replacing the sensor.
- Built-in test switch for functional testing.
- Out-of-sensitivity indication via the detector's dual-color LEDs.
- Meets NFPA 72 sensitivity testing requirements without external meters.

The result is a backup smoke sensor that stays reliable over years of deployment with minimal maintenance effort.

The detector head provides wide-angle, dual-color (red/green) LED indication, so its condition can be read at a glance during a walk-through:

- Normal standby — the detector is powered and healthy.
- Out of sensitivity — the detector needs maintenance.
- Alarm — smoke detected.

In parallel, the base unit handles remote alerting via email, SMS and voice call, and exposes the alarm state to your BMS, NMS or DCIM platforms — people on site see it, operations gets alerted.
